Anonymous Framed is an attempt to give an "official" portrait to the female artisans and trades persons of the past. I'm fascinated with the many ways their creative and productive hands touched, mended, printed, and designed overlooked objects. Many of these objects and trades are not given much thought. Additionally, the assumption has been that these items were always made by men. Reclaiming these lost female narratives and honoring them with a commemorative portrait inserts their contributions into our historical narrative and is a nod to the many anonymous artisans that remain unknown.
